Our Story
Luke started this venture during his final semester at WWU in 2016 by driving down to Kenmore every weekend, knocking on every door in the city of Kenmore, and finding 25 houses to paint for the summer. After a couple of years in the painting business, Luke yearned for something with more sustenance than the hustle of home maintenance. While trying a couple different types of projects, he built a few decks with his father, and decided to pivot to deck building. Decks are intriguing because not only can you immediately see the level of craftsmanship in a project, but you’re also creating outdoor living space that bring people together, fosters connection, and well-being. Looking ahead, Luke envisions leveraging his expertise in building and wellness to establish a tranquil little day spa and sauna, further enriching the lives of others through thoughtful design and craftsmanship. Luke would like to use what he’s learned though helping other people with their projects to build a little day spa and sauna.

We structured the sales process at Alki Deck Builders to ensure clarity, efficiency, and personalization from the first interaction to the final quote. Here’s how it unfolds:
Initial Contact
The journey begins when you contact us by filling out the form on our site. We will reach out to get more detailed information.
Scheduling an Estimate
Next, we arrange a convenient time for an estimate. Before this meeting, we will outline what to expect so you are well-prepared for an on-site visit.
On-Site Meeting
During the on-site meeting, we conduct a thorough walkthrough to define the scope of work. We will walk you through the building process, and we will walk your property, measuring the project area. We will address questions.
Delivering the Quote
Approximately a week after the initial meeting, we will review the quote in detail. This ensures transparency and provides an opportunity to make any necessary adjustments.
